We’ve received about 100 phone calls regarding a mysterious double charge that appeared on the banking statements of anyone who ate here and paid with a debit or credit card on Saturday March 21st. We did some homework on the issue (we didn’t make the double charges in-house) and found that in fact our credit card processor, RBS Worldpay, experienced a computer glitch early Sunday morning that caused the duplicate batch.
They have assured us that all of the erroneous charges will be deleted, at the very latest, by Wednesday the 2nd of May.
Again, please know that this isn’t something that occurred in the restaurant. Since this mistake, we have actually switched credit card processors to a local company anyway, and we hope that working locally will prevent the time delay that we are experiencing now, should anything like this occur again in the future.
Thanks for understanding that we are doing everything we can to sort this out and get the credits issued to your accounts. Our phone has been ringing off the hook, and if we don’t get to you, we’re so sorry! Keep an eye on your statement as that credit should be appearing very soon.
